Smart public transport stop electronics

The cooperation with the renowned manufacturer of urban furniture mmcité brought the challenge of creating fully functional, reliable and modern electronics for a smart public transport stop. The prototypes were presented at Designblok and during the Karlovy Vary IFF, and today they are also part of the public space.

Our solution

The electronic armament developed by us includes:

• RGB LED panel (4 m) for displaying departures, incidents, time and weather.
• A pair of touchscreens for complete timetables, maps and other traffic information.
• Charging surfaces for phones, including Qi wireless standard and classic wired connection.
• Public Wi-Fi hotspot.
• Control unit with embedded Linux, accessible remotely over the network.
• Can be operated on a battery recharged from public lighting – ideal for energy-saving locations.

The facility is fully accessible for the visually impaired. The information displayed on the device is automatically converted to voice.

Result

The longitudinal panel displays information about vehicle departures, or dispatch reports of emergencies, outside temperature, weather forecast, time and date. The side panels allow you to display complete timetables, maps and other information in addition to the current departures.

The shelter itself was produced by the well-known manufacturer of urban furniture MMCITÉ Bílovice u Zlína, the design of the graphic part was prepared by studio Marvil, the authors of the furniture project are Eduard Herrmann and Matěj Coufal.
