Semi-automatic warehouse
YEAR 2019
YEAR 2008
The implemented system consists of 200 pieces of LED displays placed under the individual shelf positions. The warehouseman is shown the number of pieces of product to be picked (removed) or inserted, read on-line from the company information system.
In addition, each display unit – an electronic marker – can light up or flash a trio of highly visible LEDs on the side to highlight or differentiate the indication. After the warehouse keeper performs the desired action, he confirms it by pressing the button next to the display. This confirmation is transferred to the information system, the display goes off and the system confirms the end of the work after all items have been picked.
The entire facility is divided into 7 sections of approx. 30 shelf positions. The individual sections are activated by reading the barcode from the invoice resp. the stock movement sheet in the reader, called. scanning terminal, located on the side wall of a row of shelves.
A PC computer with increased dust protection is located in the warehouse area for system administration and, if necessary, printing of stock lists.
All parts of the system except the computer, which is not necessary for its operation, are in a design without moving mechanical parts (e.g. fans, hard disks) and with low power consumption, the average consumption of one marker is less than 1 W. The connection of electronic markers is made via RS-485 bus, scanning terminals are connected via Ethernet to the Internet.
Our company realized and installed the hardware part of the equipment (including microcode displays and scanning terminals), the SW of the information system was supplied by iMagic, s.r.o.
