RFID reader for Výtopna restaurants
For the Výtopna restaurants, where model trains deliver food and drinks right to your table. The current readers have a 1-2% failure rate. Therefore, when an error occurs, the train has to circle back or wait for a new command from the restaurant staff, unnecessarily delaying the delivery.
At the Výtopna in Prague 40 trains run every day, each covering an average of 7 km, so they travel over 280 km daily. This means roughly 250,000 tags need to be read every day. Even with 99% accuracy, that results in about 2,500 errors per day – clearly not sufficient.
This is where EGM come in. Our reader scans each tag under the tracks in 11 ms – faster and more reliable than standard readers. Thanks to this increased reading speed, the reader has at least 6 attempts to scan a tag as the train passes over it, effectively eliminating wrong reads. There are around 300 tags placed under the entire track system at Výtopna, roughly every 1 to 1.5 meters, which help monitor the train positions and prevent collisions. This system ensures smooth and safe operation for the entire restaurant.
