Evaporative and thermal resistance meter for textile materials
The device is inserted into a climate chamber, which ensures a constant temperature and humidity of the ambient air. Inside the device is a special heated semi-permeable plate that is automatically moisturized to simulate the properties of sweaty human skin. The plate is mounted on an electric slide and is thermally shielded by electronically controlled thermal protectors.
The surface of the plate is partially blown by the turbulent air flow generated by tangential fans. The air velocity and its dynamic changes are electronically evaluated for feedback control of the fan operation. According to the energy consumed for heating the plate, the heat loss of the fabric is calculated – thermal and evaporative resistance.
The device includes a control computer with Windows OS.
